 DISTRICT TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Technology Experience

REPORTS TO AND SUPERVISED BY:

Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARY:

Terms of employment and salary will be recommended by the superintendent and established by the school board.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • District Technology Director expected to work in cooperation with the superintendent as well as other administrators and staff in the East Tallahatchie School District.
  • District Technology Director is expected to follow the chain of command
  • District Technology Director is expected to maintain a positive attitude.
  • The District Technology Director is expected to keep confidential conversations and issues confidential.
  • District Technology Director is expected to have good people skills in dealing with fellow workers. If conflict develops between the District Technology Director and another staff member, the District Technology Director is expected to try and resolve the conflict as quickly as possible.
  • District Technology Director is expected to work with the principal of each campus
  • District Technology Director is expected to present superintendent with an annual evaluation of the entire District Technology Program, along with goals and suggestions for the next school year. This is to be presented each May.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the district Network
  • Manage and maintain the Google for Education Applications and district email accounts
  • Indepth knowledge of computer/lab setup, repair, troubleshooting, upgrading.
  • Working knowledge of networking including network administration, switches, cabling, and be able to troubleshoot networking errors.
  • Must be able to set-up and troubleshoot digital devices including printers, SmartBoards, projectors, etc.
  • Must be able to install software related to classroom instruction and network security.
  • Assist with student online testing applications.
  • Work with professional development coordinator in planning professional development for computer application and related technologies that meet district specific needs.
  • Provide technical curriculum assistance regarding hardware usage, software applications, computer technology, and the general instructional use of technology in the classroom.
  • Prepare e-rate budget and manage the program.
  • Lead the development/writing of the District Technology Plan.
  • Assist in the integration of technology applications in the K-12 curriculum.
  • Propose plans for updates, and maintain technology equipment.
  • Assist in the overall evaluation of unit's programs and services providing input, support, and date to the division administrator as requested.
  • Assist with grant writing that involves technology.
  • Update personal technological knowledge and skills.
  • Serve as a liaison for technology to the Curriculum Coordinators, Specialists, etc.
  • Assist district staff with break downs in technology equipment.
  • Visit each campus weekly checking with principals concerning technology.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The District Technology Director is expected to attend Administrator’s Training provided by the Superintendent.

The District Technology Director is expected to work in cooperation with the District Administrative Staff in planning and directing professional development and curriculum for the District.

With approval from the Superintendent, attend state required trainings and conferences.
