TITLE: School Secretary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A reasonable degree of proficiency in accounting and computer usage.
- Working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment and machines.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board/Administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office’s maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy, yet productive and smoothly-run office.
- Maintains such student records as shall be required.
- Receives and routes all incoming calls and visitors.
- Maintains a daily employee attendance log and the records for substitute teachers.
- Performs any bookkeeping tasks associated with the specific position.
- Prepares reports for the principal and central office as shall be required in a timely manner.
- Handles all monies coming into the office, (i.e. pictures, fundraisers, programs, book fees, field trips, etc.)
- Submit, as received and approved by building principal, items requiring Board action to the central office (travel, fundraisers, personnel, activities, etc.)
