TITLE:              School Secretary

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A reasonable degree of proficiency in accounting and computer usage.
  2. Working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment and machines.
  3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board/Administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

 

JOB GOAL:  To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office’s maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:          

 

  1. Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy, yet productive and smoothly-run office.
  2. Maintains such student records as shall be required.
  3. Receives and routes all incoming calls and visitors.
  4. Maintains a daily employee attendance log and the records for substitute teachers.
  5. Performs any bookkeeping tasks associated with the specific position.
  6. Prepares reports for the principal and central office as shall be required in a timely manner.
  7. Handles all monies coming into the office, (i.e. pictures, fundraisers, programs, book fees, field trips, etc.)
  8. Submit, as received and approved by building principal, items requiring Board action to the central office (travel, fundraisers, personnel, activities, etc.)
